📖 the story…

• kelsey wilson formed sir woman after nearly a decade on tour with her prior group, ‘wild child’

  • ‘we had been on the road, like nine months out of the year for a decade…that’s just a long time to be away from home and in bars every day’ 🚍

• she returned back to austin and felt compelled to get sober and write more upbeat, soulful songs (in contrast to the folk roots of wild child)

  • she chose the name ‘sir woman’ after a security guard saw her walking in an ‘indiscernible bundle of blankets’ at a festival and shouted ‘Sir!’ and then ‘Woman!’….the rest is history 📖 

• kelsey and the rest of ‘sir woman’ slowly became a staple within the austin music scene, growing a loyal following for their shows

  • i became a ‘sir woman’ loyalist while living in austin from 2018 to 2020, and would drag groups to catch their rad shows

• they are now headliner status around town, and won ‘artist of the year’ at the 2023 austin music awards 🏆
