📖 the story…

• sol was born cleopatra nikolic in 1990, to her jamaican 🇯🇲 father and spanish-serbian 🇪🇸🇷🇸 mother

• her parents met playing in the same jazz band 🎺 and cleo was surrounded by music from the jump

• she got a karaoke machine 🎤 from her mom for her 11th birthday, and her passion for singing was born

• unlocking early success on myspace, cleo was discovered by davinche and signed to Island records in 2011 ✍️

• soonafter, she took a long hiatus from music:

  • 🗣️ “i had lost faith in myself”

• in 2017 she re-emerged with the help of producer (now husband) inflo, who helped produce many of adele’s biggst hits (u can hear this in cleo’s music) 🎙️

• her initial resurgence on the scene was done behind the mysterious r&b soul group sault (if you haven’t heard them - stop now and listen)

• she continued to avoid the spotlight, but released albums ‘rose in the dark’ and ‘mother’ (my personal fav 🏆), exploring deep topics of healing and motherhood

• last year she dropped two full albums, 3 weeks apart, which her fanbase haven’t stopped raving about (Heaven + Gold)

• she’s been dropping hints at a US tour on her twitter

  • ill be racing 🏃‍♂️‍➡️ to the box office IF it happens
